Rise Alarm Clock App Reviews

Needs work on rotation and the presses it takes to get the screen to go dark at night. After I snooze the alarm or when an alert comes up I have a hard time getting it to rotate sideways again to put it back on the landscape dock that I use on my nightstand.

After I purchased the app for $1.99, they ask me to spend another $.99 for the option of multiple alarm, which should be a standard feature of any app, even free ones.

I tried just about every alarm app looking for some simple features. I needed to be able to set my alarm, go to my iTunes and play my night time sleep playlist, put on my sleep headphones - and trust the alarm app to do 2 simple things: 1. Allow the iTunes music to keep playing even while I the open the alarm app back up to be displaying the time - this app just seamlessly allows that. Some other apps I tried just wouldnt function well with having music playing all night. I would go back to the alarm app to have it be in the foreground - and my music would shut off. 2. I just wanted my alarm sound to play through the sleep headphones and not on the phones external speaker. My husband and I have very different schedules and I needed an alarm that he wouldnt hear. I have no idea why thats such a hard thing for apps to do but this one does it seamlessly . No other app had these 2 features. So this has been perfect for me. Its easy to set multiple alarms and I love the nature sounds option because its a gentle cool way to wake up and then there are the fun quotes that display. This app also doesnt seem to over use power or randomly stay bright which some other apps did and those others even heated up the phone. I use the paid version because I cluttered my phone with useless free apps that didnt do what I wanted and whats a few bucks to get something that works and helps me out every day and does exactly what I need it to? Thanks for this app- its clean, simple and it just works.

Waste of money, wish Id spent my money on a cup of coffee

I had an issue with it not going off, but for some reason iOS had turned off notifications. Got it working great again. Love the interface and ease of use

It does what it needs to do. Its simple and streamlined, and has many pleasant, gentle or natural sounding tone options. So much better than waking up to a buzzer. I loved this app on my really old iPod Touch, until an update broke it. Now that Ive finally updated from a flip phone to an iPhone and can use it again, Im glad to have it back.

A solid alarm app, but the interface is downright simplistic and confusing. When you need videos to explain the lack of contextual clues (eg 3-bars for a menus would be great), then you know youve pushed the boundaries too much.

Reliable, I use it always! Nice selection of music & sound choices.

Almost none of the features in the video seem to work at all. I cant long press to edit, when I keep swiping left the trash can never shows up, gestures keep changing for different functions and some things work some of the time, but not others. it really is a nightmare to use, and it has so much promise :-(

Works perfectly for what I need and the design is sleek!!

I used to love using this app with my iPhone 5s running on iOS 8. It never disappointed me. When I upgraded to my iPhone 6s Plus with iOS 9, Rise became completely dysfunctional. I have woken up late 4 times now, causing me to get to work late! NOT HAPPY. It hasnt been updated in a very long time and seems to not work well with iOS 9. Uninstalling until they update it!

All the stars have to align in order for this alarm to work. So far no help from the company either. Bummer.

Ive been using this app for at least a couple years now through multiple updates. Was unreliable for a little while when I first started my Apple Music subscription, but deleting and reinstalling it fixed the problem. Either way, I cant live without this alarm. I love it. I would prefer you didnt have to pay extra to get all the features of the app since you had to buy it once already, but I guess thats how capitalism works so what can you do?

Sometimes it works sometimes it does not work. Half the time when I click the top right alarm screen to view my different alarms nothing happens. To fix I have to close the app and then re-open it. When my alarm is set and I swipe between the different display screens it appears as though it overlays two screens on top of the other and again I have to close app and re-open. Most recently, If I set the alarm, set it to on, leave the app open, and lock my screen, the alarm doesn’t go off the next morning. Love the app concept and would use it all the time if the dev could just fix all the bugs. Not a single update in the last 6 months.

Works. Attractive, and well designed. No issues, been using it for s couple of years.

Crashes every time I try to open it now. Very frustrating and obviously not usable. Would have been five stars.

UPDATE: This will always be a great app, but had to stop using it as it kept draining my battery, 23%. The iPhones own alarm feature in the Clock app only took 2%. So I had to switch. Will miss Rise unless the battery drain is fixed. ________________________ By far the best iPhone alarm Ive ever used (and i bought a LOT of alarms). Rise is super simple, and never fails to go off. To ensure an alarm will sound: > Open the app > turn the sound switch and pump volume all the way up > Do Not Disturb hours should be set to end BEFORE Rise sounds off. > set iPhone to sleep with top button. > Rise will then work perfect. Just get it!

It was working great but not it has so many problems. The app would not open and was greyed out like it was being installed which meant I couldnt turn off the alarm that was going off. I restarted the phone but the problem persisted. Finally uninstalled it.

I have been looking for a no-fail alarm clock - this is it. Simple on/off, plenty of ring tones to choose from, multiple snooze times. Im very glad I found this clock.

I just expected to be able to use any sound on my phone. Not worth $ to me.
